Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Fenix) has taken the victory of the Grand Prix de Denain, beating Jordi Meeus and Ben Swift in a final sprint.

This is the third victory for the Belgian in less than a week, after also winning the Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen and Eschborn-Frankfurt. The French race was 200.3 kilometres long and took the peloton along a route that included 12 cobbled sectors, the last one a bit more than ten kilometres from the finish line.

The escape of the day inclided riders like Dylan Kowalski, Maxime Urrity (Xelliss-Roubaix Lille Metropole), Jason Tesson (St. Michel-Auber 93), Adam De Vos (Rally Cycling), among othes.

Michal Kwiatkowski (Ineos-Grenadiers), Clement Davy (Groupama-FDJ) and Stan Dewulf (AG2R Citroën) took an advantage on the last stretch but they were caught by the rest with less than 300 metres to go. The Belgian of Alpecin-Fenix was the strongest one in the last metres and crossed the finish line ahead of Meeus (Bora-hansgrohe) and Swift (Ineos-Grenadiers).
