AG2R La Mondiale has announced a strong and versatile roster to face the Belgian race Le Samyn on the third of March.

The race will be 201.9 kilometres long between Quarengon and Dour over a rolling course that gets tougher at the second half. The French team wants to take the initiative on the competition and bring the action to the race.

"It's an unusual race with a lot of action," said sports director Nicolas Guille. "You have to expect bad weather, and it could be very nervous. We want to complete this first block of classics by racing with ambition. We could see during the weekend at the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne that Clément Venturini was riding very hard.

"Julien (Duval) as well as Lawrence (Naesen) will certainly be anxious to perform in the race and fulfil their roles for the team. I also think Alexis Gougeard, who missed the opening weekend, will be keen to make the most of this race. It will be up to us to take the initiative."

AG2R La Mondiale's roster for Le Samyn (March 3):

Alexis Gougeard
Clement Venturini
Dorian Godon
Julien Duval
Harry Tanfield
Lawrence Naesen
